Dr. Charles Sgroi
Dr. Sgroi attended Franklin High School in Somerset NJ. After high school, he went on to the University of SC with aspirations to be a football player. He graduated with a BS and ended up teaching high school chemistry in SC for a few years. Dr. Sgroi went on to pursue a Masters in Science Education at UMDNJ (now Rutgers Dental School).
Dr. Sgroi has been in private practice since 1977, giving him 40+ years of experience. Besides practing dentistry, he also has a passion for teaching. Because of this, he taught at a dental school for 20 years in the department of restorative and diagnostic sciences at UMDNJ (now Rutgers).
Dr. Sgroi is a rarity in the dental field nowadays where his dental practice is attached to his home. This gives a more personal connection with his patients.
From Dr. Sgroi,
“As a dentist for 40+. I try to treat patients as I would my family with old fashion values but modern concepts. Firmly believing in traditional and homeopathic approaches. Offering all patients the option of BIO-COMPATABILITY testing of dental materials before treatment. I prefer to limit use of metals in my practice that includes mercury! That is one reason for my interest in the ceramics in dentistry, as such I am Asst. Professor at NJ Dental School and have lectured on all aspects of cosmetics.”
